In the show business industry in our country, it is pretty much normal to see celebrities transfer from one network to another. So it is not really impossible to see your two favorite actors or actresses from two different networks to be in one show together. Who knows? Maybe one day, one of them transfers to the other’s network and gets to be casted on a show together.
Even though it is normal, it was still a surprise when the former TV5 star actor Mark Neumann transferred to ABS-CBN when his contract in TV5 expired last July 2017. The actor was one of the former network’s top stars. Mark Neumann signed a five year contract with TV5 back in 2012 and when that contract ended, he decided to still pursue his career in show business in another network and that is in ABS-CBN.
Just last July 17, he had an interview with the host of the show “Tonight with Boy Abunda.” In the interview, that was when Mark Neumann shared the story and reason behind his decision to transfer in ABS-CBN.
He said that he already finished his contract in the other network and it was for five years. He shared that there was also not enough work in the other network anymore. He had to work and earn money so he transferred. It was in 2016 when the TV5 Network did not produce any entertainment shows anymore. Instead, the network gave more focus on their sports-related shows. Thus, this led to their artists being on hiatus and no work.
Like Neumann, some of his co-artists in his former network also transferred to other networks. Others decided to leave what they started in show business and pursue other career instead.
His former on-screen love team partner in TV5, Shaira Mae, also transferred to another network which is in GMA. She now has the screen name Shaira Diaz.
When he was asked why he decided to still pursue his acting career, he answered, “Kasi I’m supporting myself since I was 16. I’m 23 now.
His first show in ABS-CBN was in “La Luna Sangre” where he acted alongside Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo. He also has scenes in the recently released movie of Joshua Garcia and Julia Barretto entitled “I Love You, Hater.” The film is still showing in over 200 cinemas nationwide.
