Over 13 years ago, the Kapamilya network embodied the meaning of family to young talents in the gag show Goin’ Bulilit to its young talents.
The cast was composed of adorable kids that provide the best medicine – laughter – to Filipino audiences through jokes, sketches, and various comedic situations once in a week. The “Palarong Pambata”, “Use in a Sentence”, and “Ano Daw?”, were their most iconic segments.
The kids were below 12-years old and continues to reshuffle the cast almost every year due to their ‘graduation’ because they tend to reach the age limit. Romy Pastrana, or popularly known as Dagul in the show, has become a big part of the show despite his tiny physique and part of the premier casts since the first day.
The former young stars have now taken their different paths in showbiz and non-showbiz careers. In spite of their tight and conflicting schedules, some Goin’ Bulilit alumni, are still able to hang out and keep connected whenever available.
Some have even become offscreen best friends, co-stars, and business partners.
Sunday has always been exciting in the calendars for millennial kids with Goin’ Bulilit. It was a night filled of laughter, corny jokes, and silly spiels.
In their premier launch in 2005, they won the category of Best Gag Show in PMPC Star Awards for TV, then Best Comedy Program in the 12th KBP Golden Dove Awards in 2006, and Best Comedy Show in 2007 in the 29th Catholic Mass Media Awards, so on and so forth. The gag show mostly caught the limelight each year, no doubt.
Goin’ Bulilit also became a training ground for the biggest actors today. Some of the alumni who had their career breakthroughs are Kathryn Bernardo, Miles Ocampo, Jane Oineza, Julia Montes, Nash Aguas, and more.
While some have taken into their respective non-showbiz life and chase other careers are Aaron Junatas, Basty Alcanses, Brenna Garcia, Cha-cha Canete, Izzy Canillo, and Carl Barrameda.
