Anne Curtis is currently floating in cloud nine since her first movie with Dingdong Dantes is continually gaining praises and commendations from the netizens. As a matter of fact, their movie “Sid and Aya: Not A Love Story” is now on its third block-buster week!
In an interview with PEP, the “It’s Showtime” host shared about their struggle in promoting their movie. She said:
“Ang hirap talaga kapag ang dalawang lead stars mo hindi nasa isang network. Hindi kayo nakakapag-promote together. It’s really word of mouth and social media [that promoted the film].”
Nevertheless, despite the gap and network differences, Anne is still thankful for those people who loved and re-watched their movie.
With the arrival of positive reviews over “Sid and Aya: Not A Love Story”, Anne believes that Filipino movie watchers are now starting to love movies that have unique plot stories.
“It just goes to show na ang FIlipino audience ngayon ay ready na sila sa kwentong ganon. Very real, nakaka-relate [yung characters]. Hindi siya formula, so nakakatuwa. Hindi siya mainstream! So, I guess, iyon ang maganda doon.”
She said that she is delighted to know that Pinoy viewers are now starting to love movies that are not considered as “formula films”.
In case you’re unaware, Anne has another two movies that are soon to conquer the Philippine cinemas. In fact, her fans are now excited to watch her first-ever action movie, entitled “Buy Bust”.
On June 16, Direk Erik Matti, already hinted the Filipino fans that the most anticipated film is soon to be in cinemas. His tweet reads:
“Just came from our 2nd cinema check of #BuyBust and each time I see something to correct. A muffled sound, a muted piece of music, a muddled picture contrast or a stop darker than the grading. Inch by inch, getting closer to letting go and it’s all yours my dear audience. #almost”
