The so-called rivalry between the country’s two biggest television networks GMA and ABS-CBN can be seen their noontime shows “Eat Bulaga!” and “It’s Showtime” respectively. However, Vice Ganda brings it up a notch in his latest joke at the Kapamilya noontime show.
“Hindi ko na kaya ang show na ito talaga! Buksan mo ito! Didiretso ako ng Broadway!” the comedian screamed while laughing. He was pertaining to the studio where the rival network’s noontime show is often shot.
Vice was making fun of Vhong Navarro’s stint during an interview with one of the contestants for their “Mini Me” segment.
Vhong was supposed to pull a hair from Vice’s head in order to continue on with his joke, but he refused to participate. Instead, Vhong pulls out a strand of hair from his own head.
Vhong went on continuing his joke by asking the contestant, Samuel, to pull the strand of hair which he pretended to tie to his face. When Samuel tugged on the hair strand, Vhong made faces as if his lips are literally being pulled.
“Palitan n’yo nga ito ng new Wally. Tawagin n’yo si Wally,” vice jokingly added. Wally refers to Wally Bayola – the famous Eat Bulaga! host who is famous for pulling jokes with his co-hosts.
“Ako pupunta ng Broadway?” Vhong replied. He tried to ask Vice to execute the same joke, but the comedian diverted it to the co-host Zues.
It is not the first time Vice Ganda used the rival network’s noontime show as part of his jokes. In June, he recreated a famous scene from “Aldub,” a love story between Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza made popular by Eat Bulaga!
In another episode, Vice broke an awkward silence during the segment, Ms. Q&A. He asked viewers to briefly change their TV channels as staff try to fix the three broken buzzers meant to be used for the scene.
