Animals can compassionate beings that are capable of comprehending and feeling emotions. Animals mirror what they see in their owners and their environment. This sparks a cycle of compassion between every being that they meet. An incredible thing happened in Des Moines, Iowa, when a dog named Reagan the Labrador brought home a crumpled bag of cat food.
The adorable Reagan found a bag of Meow Mix sitting on the side of the road and brought it as a present for Kerry. Initially Kerry thought Reagan had just found another “trash treasure” and decided to present the bounty to mom. With this in mind, Kerry ignored the bag and turned to go back to the house. But Reagan was insistent that Kerry took a look inside the bag and convinced Kerry with his puppy-dog-eyes.
Now convinced, Kerry looked inside the bad and was shocked to find a litter of kittens with their eyes still shut. Some kittens did not make it since the bag was sealed shut and thrown onto the streets by a heartless person but fortunately, two survived and were eager to crawl their way out.
The heroes Reagen and Kerry quickly brought the pair inside to get them cleaned and treated. After which, Kerry named the kittens Tipper and Skipper and gave them warm milk and a warm bed to get through the night.
But being inexperienced with kittens, Kerry called around to the shelters in their area for help. She got several “no’s” until Raccoon Valley Animal Sanctuary and Rescue agreed to take the two orphaned boys.
The two lucky boys grew up to be stunners and were quickly adopted after several families were screened to become their furparents forever.
As of present, Tipper and Skipper are living their best lives in their forever homes all thanks to Reagen and Kerry’s compassionate hearts.
