Based on her recent Instagram post, the 24-year-old mother of two was annoyed when some netizens reprimanded her on how she takes care of her newborn baby named Kai.
Here is what she wrote in the caption of her Instagram post:
“I can watch you sleep all night long when the house is quiet and still, even after the hardest days of motherhood I feel content and love.”
As seen in the image, baby Kai was lying comfortably in a bed while being surrounded by two pillows on either side. However, some concerned netizens pointed out that what she did was dangerous to her baby.
Read what they had to say to her below:
“You might wanna check out swaddle wrap it’s a lot better and safer for newborn babies they keep babies warm and secured without the need for pillows and blankets around that could suffocate babies.”
“Way too cute but in the US the pillows or stuffed toys are not recommended to be placed with the infant due to SIDS.”
In case you’re not aware, these netizens are referring to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, also known as SIDS, which is used to classify “unexplained deaths”, usually during sleep, of seemingly healthy babies less than a year old, according to the website of the Mayo Clinic.
However, one netizen hit back on the comment of the netizens to debunk it.
“Pillows are never a factor of SIDS. It’s not recommended here in the US because most newborns here are left unsupervised in their nurseries while asleep, pillows can cause suffocation, not SIDS. I don’t think she’ll leave him unsupervised. She even said, she can watch him sleep all day. You’re doing great momma @sarahlahbati.”
Sarah Lahbati also wrote a clapback to the netizens. Here is what she replied:
“Photo was taken in our living room where he hangs out once in a while for a bit. He obviously doesn’t sleep with that much amount of pillow around him. My God, people. Raise your own kids and mind your own business.”
