“When you live in Detroit, it’s hard to not notice an abundance of abandoned houses, and one day, I began looking at them as a resource, and it wasn’t too much longer before I was at a city auction with my hand up.”

When she first purchased the home, every nook and corner of the abandoned house contained trash. It took her quite some time to clean up the mess. To start her project, the entire house was filled with more than 4,000 pieces of ornamental plants and flowers.

The blooms were placed strategically by Lisa herself over the course of 48 hours. Some of them were merely sitting on the floor, while other plants hang around the staircases and the windows. Some furniture was also decorated with the flowers.
