Excited mom expecting twins was heartbroken when she found out how risky her pregnancy is

Every married couple dreams of having a family of their own. Having kids and being a happy household is basically the ultimate joy any person could have. However, bearing kids is a delicate step that expecting parents must go through. Although a lot of women are able to give birth normally, some end up having complications which result to the termination of the pregnancy or a defect of the baby.

One woman managed to push through with her pregnancy despite all the risks that came her way.

Newly married couple, Lisa and Darren Hansen, were expecting to have their first baby. Like any other couple, the two of them were thrilled at the idea that they would soon be able to build their own family.

They became even more excited when they learned that they were having twins. The young couple already prepared all the things they would need as new parents and they also even thought up a name for their soon-to-be-born bundles of joy – River and Piper. Unfortunately, their happiness was cut short when doctors found a complication with Lisa’s pregnancy.

According to her attending physician, her twins were suffering from a rare condition. Her doctor then told her that she has “monochorionic monoamniotic twins” which means that her unborn babies are sharing one chorionic and amniotic sac.

This could result to the entanglement of their umbilical cords causing either one or both of them to not get the proper nutrients they need as they develop inside their mom’s womb.

The couple were given the option to terminate their pregnancy but they refused. To make things worse, Lisa’s husband, Darren, had to be relocated for a job which he took before his wife even got pregnant. This meant that the two of them would have to be away from each other since Lisa was being monitored round the clock at the hospital.

Eventually, it was time for Lisa to give birth.

Luckily, even though her babies were born premature, they were still healthy and normal twins.
