Derek Ramsay exits TV5 after 6 years

Network transfer has been a trend among celebrities these past few months.

Yesterday, Derek Ramsay finally said his farewell message to the management of TV5 Network. On his Instagram post, the 41-year-old actor and model expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Kapatid network, who catered to him over the past six years.

He wrote,

“Thank you TV5 for 6 great years. Thank you for trusting and believing in me, the projects and memories here will always be cherished.You always made me feel that I am truly family. Wishing you all the best in your new direction for the network.”

He ended it by mentioning his superhero character in the Kapatid fantasy series “Kidlat” way back in 2013.

“Kidlat signing out for now. Love you all.”

Way back in 2012, Derek signed a contract with TV5 after being a Kapamilya for more than seven years.

Since then, the Kapatid network has offered the actor-host with a series of great projects such as “Amazing Race” (2012), “Undercover” (2013), “For Love Or Money” (2013), “Extreme Series: Kaya Mo Ba ‘To?”, and “Mac & Chiz” (2015).

In the previous report, Derek is set to have a comeback movie under Star Cinema this year. Along with him on the upcoming film are Kapamilya stars Bea Alonzo and Paulo Avelino. In the article published by ABS-CBN last year, the said movie is entitled “Kasal.”

It has been two years since Derek did a project under Star Cinema. In an interview, he was quoted as to saying

“I’m very, very excited with this complicated character that I’m going to play and I’m very excited to work with such a brilliant cast and again to be working with direct Ruel.”

December last year, ABS-CBN gave their official statement on the comeback of Derek on the network. It was after the actor has settled his disputes with the Kapamilya network.
