It has been four months since Atom Araullo left ABS-CBN for GMa-7, and the news reporter admitted that he is still in the process of adjusting to his new home. Last September 2017, followers of the reporter were saddened to see him bid farewell to his network of 10 years. Now, it seems like Atom still isn’t used to being a Kapuso. Could this be a sign that he did the wrong thing?
According to an interview by Philippine Entertainment Portal, the seasoned reporter said it was just really in his nature to adjust slowly, but also said that it’s only a matter of time. He said he was happy that he was able to do various shows with his new network, and that his first months with GMA have been very productive.
The reporter-turned-actor also has a new show in another network, AXN. Called “Adventure Your Way”, Atom will be hosting the newest travel show which is set to air on February 8, 2018. Despite having two networks, Atom said there was no conflict between the two.
“I’m very happy that they’ve given me this freedom. That’s one of the things that I really like about working with GMA,[it’s] open to these arrangements and also allowed me to explore work outside of the network. I think there’s enough room for a lot of travel shows. People love travel shows, they can watch 10 or 11 if they want.”
The news reporter said it benefits both him and the network to have talents and employees who can do a range of things because he is able to develop his skill set and reach a wider audience.
Atom said he is still very thankful to his former network ABS-CBN for the ten years he spent there. He said he did a lot of good documentaries there, which people seem to forget. His work in GMA-7, he explained, is basically the same, but he tries to tweak it a bit to offer something different to the audience.
