Celebrity couple Coleen Garcia and Billy Crawford are set to tie the knot in a few months. However, it looked like it’s not the only life-changing journey Billy is embarking on as he transferred to another talent agency. In fact, on January 16, the prolific Kapamilya host signed a five-year contract with Viva Artists’ Agency and Viva Entertainment, Inc. And for Coleen, the reason behind such a significant career move is that Billy misses performing.
Speaking to showbiz website PEP during the press conference of “Ikaw Lang Ang Iibigin,”, the 25-year-old actress said:
“I think he misses the performer in him. Kasi ngayon, he’s very focused when it comes to hosting.”
According to PEP, Viva is known to handle artists engaged in performing, allowing them to explore their talents in music through projects other than acting or hosting. Some of Viva’s famous roster include Regine Velasquez, James Reid, Nadine Lustre, and Sarah Geronimo, among others.
Before changing managers, Billy was under Arnold Vegafria’s ALV Talents Circuit since 2007, when he decided to stay in the Philippines for good. Prior to this, Billy was already an established singer and performer in the US and Europe until the mid-2000’s.
The proud fiancée also shared how Billy is getting better at hosting, despite his recent foray into such unchartered territory.
“So, right now, he’s getting better at it [hosting] as well. And I’m very proud of him because he’s accomplished many things in the past two years being a solo host na hindi niya nagawa before,” Coleen said.
Aside from his daily stint as a mainstay of “It’s Showtime,” Billy already hosted a handful of ABS-CBN shows, such as “Your Face Sounds Familiar” in 2015, “Pinoy Boyband Superstar” in 2016, “Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids” in 2017, “Little Big Shots” in 2017, and recently, the ongoing reality-based talent search, “Pilipinas Got Talent”.
Likewise, Coleen revealed that Billy often consults with her first before making the big jump.
“He doesn’t make a decision without consulting me first, and the same goes for me. Not because we hold each other back, but because we decide what’s best for the other person based on how we feel,” she pointed out.
“With him, everything went through me naman also. So he asked for my opinion first, he asked for advice, and I think that this is really a good, big step for him,” Coleen shared.
