There’s a reason why titles are important in every piece of media – to a good book, film or a concert series. To name something is a big deal, especially if you’re personally responsible for it. A good example is naming things that are relevant to us, whether that’s our first pet or a special event. Kapamilya star Sarah Geronimo was curious why James Reid and Nadine Lustre named their concert ‘rEVOLution’.
Curious to know why the “JaDine” loveteam decided on this name? Read on below!
According to a report by Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), the Popstar Princess was present in the event and gave a memorable performance with the couple.
After their energetic number, Sarah Geronimo asked them what the concert’s name stood for.
“Guys, matanong ko nga, ano ba talaga ang pinaglalaban niyo at bakit Revolution? Ituro niyo nga sa akin ang pinaglalaban niyo.”
(Guys, may I ask you, what are you really fighting for and why [is the concert called] Revolution? Teach me what are you fighting for.)
James was the one who answered, simply stating: “There are many kinds of revolution represented tonight. Revolution of love, revolution of music.”
In a separate interview with the Philippine Star, the Multimedia Prince further explained why he chose the title for their concert.
“My interpretation is a new age of love, of spreading love…another way I’m looking at it is the revolution from music, so many artists here drag each other down to make it to the international stage. It happens all the time but we really need to forget those old ways and move on and work together. Don’t compete. Just contribute. It’s more fun that way,”
Indeed, the JaDine Loveteam focused on other creative outlets after their last soap ‘Till I Met You’ wrapped up, with James focusing on music and Nadine shifting to directing.
James released his third album ‘Palm Dreams’ in July 2017. It was a departure to his previous pop sound as the album incorporated more R & B elements.
Nadine’s first foray in directing was the music video for ‘The Life’, which was also a collaboration with ‘2 Cool 2 Be Forgotten’ director Petersen Vargas.
It’s clear to see that JaDine has expanded their resume, thanks to the success of their latest concert.
